Fort Yuma
The Arizona Sentinel was an American based Daily Newspaper in Yuma Arizona from 1872 to 1911. This was an 8 page paper that discusses everything local in Yuma from Taxes to Weddings. Yuma has an area of 121 miles, the area in Arizona became a designated territory in 1863, but Yuma was officially founded in 1914. Yuma was one of the first settlements in Arizona, it established Fort Yuma(picture to the right)This newspaper appears to be very useful to learn about the community by incorporating many different sections about the town including a travelers guide, Legal Notes, stories published from The Arizona Sentinel, "New-Today" section, Local Matters, Advertisements and a miscellaneous section (contains stories and reports on anything important in the town.
