1. Ben Affleck- is an American actor and filmmaker. His accolades include two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. He plays Tony Mendez in Argo and directs it. Mendez was the CIA operative who came up with the plan that saved the 6 escapees in the Iranian Hostage Crisis.
2. Bryan Cranston-is an American actor, voice actor, producer, director, and screenwriter, best known for his roles as Walter White on the AMC crime drama Breaking Bad. He plays Jack O'Donnel in Argo, the head of the CIA that sent Mendez to Iran.
3. Tony Mendez- is an American CIA technical operations officer, now retired, who specialized in support of clandestine and covert CIA operations. He has written three memoirs about his CIA experiences. Mendez was the CIA operative who came up with the plan that saved the 6 escapees in the Iranian Hostage Crisis.
4. John Goodman- is an American actor. Early in his career, he was best known for playing Dan Conner on the ABC TV series Roseanne, for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 1993. He plays John Chambers, Chambers worked with Siegal to help put the fake movie in production.
5. Ken Taylor was a Canadian diplomat, educator and businessman, best known for his role in the 1979 covert operation called the "Canadian Caper" when he was the Canadian ambassador to Iran.
6. David Haglud- is the literary editor of newyorker.com. Haglud wrote an article depicting different parts of Argo on how accurate they are to what really happened.
7. Alan Arkin - is an American actor, director and screenwriter. With a film career spanning six decades, Arkin is known for his performances in Popi; Wait Until Dark. In Argo, Arkin plays Lester Siegal. Siegal was a key part in making the fake movie.
8. Clea DuVall- is an American actress, writer, producer, and director. She is best known for her role as Sofie on the HBO television series Carnivàle. In Argo, DuVall portrays Cora Lijek. Lijek was one of the six escapees who lived with the Canadian Ambassador.
Final Thoughts:
I think it is important for all of these people to attend because they can all share there experiences on what it was like during the Iran Hostage Crisis and the Movie Argo, comparing and contrasting them to see what the movie exaggerated or what the movie did really well.
